The vascular program at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth recently performed Tarrant County’s first fenestrated abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery, or FEVAR.
This endovascular procedure uses a specially designed graft with fenestrations to repair the aortic aneurysm while maintaining blood flow to other critical arteries. With options like FEVAR and other advanced aortic procedures, the hospital has the ability to care for aortic pathology from the aortic valve all the way to the iliac bifurcation.
Hear more from the patient involved in the first procedure and from Mohammad Alqaim, MD, MS, about how the hospital is leading the way in innovative aortic care for Fort Worth and the surrounding areas.
