At Baylor Scott & White Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons Transplant Institute, the lung transplant specialists deliver leading care for patients with advanced lung disease. Our goal is to deliver the best organ transplant experience to all patients and match the best thoracic transplant procedure to the right patient in the shortest possible time.

We work in a multidisciplinary environment that allows us to utilize innovative, advanced technology and industry-leading research for our patients with complex cases of advanced lung disease. Our expert medical and surgical team works with empathy, sensitivity and compassion to restore a quality, meaningful life to as many patients as possible.

With this issue, we are pleased to introduce to you our new chief of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine, Michael Duncan, MD.  Dr. Duncan attended McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics as well as his fellowship in pulmonary diseases and critical care at Indiana University School of Medicine. His clinical areas of focus are on lung transplantation, pulmonary vascular diseases, interventional pulmonology, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

As a referring physician, provider or colleague, you play an integral role in our mission. In this lung transplant newsletter, we provide an update on expanding options for patients with hepatitis-C positive organs, innovating technologies for preservation and transport of donor lungs, and a clinic trial for patients with post-COVID-19 interstitial lung disease. We’re excited about all that is happening for patients in our program, and appreciate your support.

Please let us know how we can be of service to you and your patients, or if we can answer any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Todd Grazia, MD,
