Liver disease is the eighth leading cause of death in the United States and the third or fourth leading cause of death among patients 45 to 64. To improve these outcomes, many hepatologists on the medical staffs of Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth are undertaking a number of notable patient-centered research projects. Dallas site enrolls for global IDE study evaluating use of coronary IVL in the U.S.

Baylor Scott & White Heart & Vascular Hospital Dallas is currently enrolling patients for a prospective, multicenter, single-arm, global investigational device exemption (IDE) study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Shockwave Coronary IVL System in de novo, calcified, stenotic coronary arteries prior to stenting. Disrupt CAD III is being conducted as a staged pivotal study.
